Safety Rules
1. treat all weapons as if they're loaded at all times 2. never point a weapon at anything you don't intend to shoot 3. keep your weapon on safety unless ready to fire 4. keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target & ready to fire 5. positively identify your target 6. never engage with horseplay while handling weapons
Armorers & Clearing Barrel Attendants
1. not required to maintian qualifications on weapons; but must be certified on the SA/LW procedures 2. must certify annually 3. Document trainings & recertifying on AF Form 797's or AF Form 1098
SA/LW Handling Areas
1. free from distractions 2. only live load and clear M2, MK19, M203's, and .50cal rifles in designated clearing areas

Red Lines
1. 4 inches wide (paint, tape, or floor pattern) 2. front is 6ft from the front of the clearing barrel 3. 6ft wide (3ft on either side of clearing barrel)
Armorers will:
1. safely handle weapons 2. issue butt first, muzzle up, weapons cleared out & on safe--if the weapon design/operation permits 3. allow one person to approach issue/turn in window/area 4. visually inspect each weapon is cleared before storing.
