The 91D Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) is the Animal Care Specialist in the United States Army. As an Animal Care Specialist, you will be responsible for the overall health and well-being of military working dogs (MWDs) and other animals used in support of military operations.

Your duties may include assisting in the examination and treatment of animals, feeding and watering animals, cleaning and maintaining animal kennels and living areas, providing exercise and training for MWDs, assisting with surgical procedures, administering medications, and ensuring that animals receive proper care and follow-up treatment.

This MOS requires a genuine love for animals, as well as knowledge of veterinary medical principles and practices. Additionally, you will need good communication and organizational skills, as you will often work as part of a team and interact with other military personnel.

Career advancement opportunities in the 91D MOS include the possibility of becoming a Veterinary Technician or pursuing further education in veterinary medicine.
